Samantha Jones

Registered Biokineticist

Samantha Jones is a registered Biokineticist, the senior Biokineticist and founder of S.Jones Bio. Sam graduated at the University of Cape Town with a BSc (Med)(Hons) Exercise Science (Biokinetics) in 2013.

​

Sam completed her honours and internship at The Sports Science Institute of South Africa where she worked at the Medical Practice alongside Sport Physicians. Sam also worked at a private practice at the Silo Virgin Active before starting her own practice at The Storm Centre.

​

Sam has nine years of experience and rehabilitates a wide range of clients with a special interest in orthopaedic rehabilitation as well as chronic disease management. She is a qualified BASI mat Pilates Instructor which she integrates into her rehabilitation protocols. 

​

Sam is able to prescribe specific exercises to help rehabilitate an injury by strengthening specific muscles in order to treat the cause of an injury and therefore help reduce pain associated with the injury. She believes that supervised exercise is very important to help maintain as well as improve patients’ daily living activities. Sam has a passion for patient education throughout the rehabilitation program which helps her clients become independent while maintaining their strength and reducing the risk of injury.

Sam has established a great network with other health professionals including; Surgeons, Cardiologists, Sport Physicians, Physiotherapists, Osteopathists and other Biokineticists.

Sam loves working with people, she is extremely dedicated and compassionate.

Ashleigh Gillis

Registered Biokineticist

Ashleigh Gillis is a registered Biokineticist who joined S.Jones Bio at the beginning of 2022.

​

Ashleigh studied at the University of Stellenbosch where she completed both her BA Sport Science Undergraduate degree and BSc Honours in Biokinetics. She completed her internship at Marinda Bruwer Biokienticist in Somerset West in 2021.

​

Ashleigh has been exposed to a wide range of conditions. In her 3rd year, Honours and Internship, Ashleigh worked with people faced with both intellectual and physical disabilities.

​

Furthering that, she has also had experience with sport-related injuries and other orthopaedic injuries. 

​

Ashleigh has, therefore, developed a variety of interests that range from chronic rehabilitation to orthopaedic injuries.

​

Ashleigh has always loved sports, she currently enjoys long-distance running and cycling.

​

She is passionate, dedicated and hardworking.
